Our institute’s journal, Nazariyat: Journal for the History of Islamic Philosophy and Sciences, which is published in both Turkish and English and indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI/Q2), has released its Volume 11, Issue 1 (April/May 2025). This issue was published as the " ‘Ali Qushjī Special Issue-2."
To commemorate the 550th anniversary of the passing of ‘Ali Qushjī (d. 879/1474), one of the most significant scholars of the Islamic-Turkish world, a decision was made to gather original research aimed at a better understanding of his works and the context in which he lived. This initiative sought to enrich the 15th-century Islamic thought and science literature with new questions and approaches. For this purpose, our journal has published its last two issues as ‘Ali Qushjī Special Issues.
Click to access “Nazariyat: ‘Ali Qushjī Special Issue-2” which is the second of the special issues and includes 6 research articles and 3 book reviews.
The ‘Ali Qushjī Special Issue-1 included 7 research articles and 2 book reviews. In total, the ‘Ali Qushjī Special Issues feature 13 research articles and 5 book reviews. We believe these issues will serve as important reference sources for ‘Ali Qushjī studies.
The “Kufic composition” featured on the covers of both issues was designed by calligrapher Nurullah Özdem. His design was inspired by Ali Kuşçu's own expressions and drawings.
