International Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) Academy Award winner and editor of the Journal of Islamic Philosophy and History of Science, Prof. Dr F. Jamel Ragep, and his wife Dr Sally Ragep met with our institute's director, Prof. Dr İhsan Fazlıoğlu, and project researchers from the Department of Information and Document Management, Dr Esma Fatıma Bilgin; from our institute, Dr Elmin Aliyev, Dr Mehmet Arıkan; Research Assistants Beyzanur Topçuoğlu, Enes Güllü, Yavuzcan Gökçer, Naile Hajjar, Afra Akyol, Esra Nur Osta; from the Department of History of Science, Research Assistant Kübra Taşdemir; and Muzaffer Koç, for the advanced stages of the Islamic Scientific Manuscript Initiative (ISMI) project.
ISMI aims to collect the manuscript works in world libraries, which are primary sources on mathematical sciences written in the Islamic Civilization, and all the information to be obtained from these works, in a mega-database.
