
Alī al-Qūshjī died on 7 Sha'ban 879 / 17 December 1474 and this year is the 550th anniversary of his death. On this occasion, our Institute organises events with various institutions in order to commemorate the memory of al-Qūshjī, who is one of the important names in the history of science, through his works and fields of study reflecting his extensive knowledge. From Samarqand to Istanbul: Alī al-Qūshjī and His Circle Manuscript Exhibition was among the events that had been in preparation for a long time in cooperation with the Presidency of the Türkiye Manuscripts Institution (YEK) and the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).
Exhibition will present an important selection of books in the XV. and XVI. centuries in the rational sciences, especially Kuşçu's own handwritten works, and scientific instruments that have survived to the present day. The exhibition will be opened on 18 November 2024 at 16:00 on Monday at the Rami Library F4 Exhibition Hall.
